College Alumni Association

The College Alumni Association, established in 2005, comprises a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, and two Special Interest Chairs. The Board Members act as liaisons between alumni, current AWHEC students, faculty, administration, and the broader community, fostering engagement, communication, and collaboration with key stakeholders, including industry, academia, and global leaders.

Primary Goals

• Unify alumni worldwide into a cohesive network
• Facilitate connections among alumni and with the Institute
• Strengthen the bond between members and the Institute
• Work collaboratively towards shared interests

General Body Meeting Held on 16/07/22

The General Body Meeting was called to order at 11:00 AM. Nearly 100 alumni from the 2005–2022 batches attended the meeting. The Principal, Director, Vice Principal, Administrative Officer, Heads of Departments (HODs), and various department staff were also present.

Discussion of Agenda Items

1. Welcome Speeches: The meeting began with welcome speeches from the Presiding Officer and senior faculty. Alumni were introduced, and a brief overview of the day’s events was provided.
2. Alumni Proficiency Awards: Alumni Proficiency Awards were presented to the academic toppers of each batch. The awards recognized exceptional academic achievements and contributions. The recipients were congratulated for their dedication and success.
3. Report by Vice President: The Vice President of the Alumni Association presented a detailed report on the alumni activities, initiatives, and progress made over the past year. Key highlights included successful alumni events, professional networking opportunities, and plans for future activities.
4. Student Views: Students shared their views and opinions on the role of alumni in supporting and mentoring current students. Several students expressed interest in strengthening the relationship between the alumni and the current student body, particularly in the areas of career guidance and internships.
5. Elections: Elections were held for the new executive members of the Alumni Association. The following individuals were elected:

6. Conclusion: The Alumni Secretary thanked all attendees for their participation and contributions. The meeting ended with an orchestra performance by the junior students, which was followed by a buffet lunch.
